‍ ‍SENSE

SENSE is my second album: a deeply personal and collaborative project featuring ten world premieres by some of the most influential composers of our time.

Among them is Georges Aperghis’s Don Quijote, a work written specifically for this project and for my instrument, born from our collaboration in Paris.

The album takes its title from Sense by Kaija Saariaho, the last solo violin work she composed. I had the profound privilege of making its first-ever discographic recording.

The album also includes previously unrecorded works by Pulitzer Prize-winning Cuban composer Tania León, as well as music by Gabriel Erkoreka and José Manuel López López, both recipients of Spain’s National Prize for Music.

Manuel Martínez Burgos and Óscar Colomina also wrote new works specifically for this album and project.

SENSE is a journey of encounters, discovery and creation—giving these works their first recorded memory.

Passionate about chamber music and committed to bringing it closer to her community, Lucía Veintimilla founded La Serranía Music Fest, a chamber music festival in the rural region of La Serranía, Valencia.

The festival brings together internationally recognised musicians, emerging talent, and contemporary repertoire, creating a space where artistic excellence meets the cultural heritage and unique landscape of the region.
