Violinist Lucia Veintimilla feels equally at home performing with historical and modern instruments as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist. She has given concerts in every major country in Europe and Asia and is regularly invited to participate in music festivals around the world. Lucia has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Spanish National Radio and TV and has been featured in  “Art On The Move”, a book portraying 50 Spanish Artists based in London. 

Her debut album -Origins-, comprising solo violin pieces by Francisco Coll, Dario Marianelli and Jorge Muñiz commissioned and dedicated to Lucía, has been recently published on Aria Classics and nominated as ‘Best Instrumental Album’ by the Spanish Academy of Music. Several relevant agencies, newspapers, radio, TV -such as EFE, Europa Press, TVE, La Vanguardia, A punt, Ritmo, Todo la Música, Scherzo, Mundo Clásico, or the Parisian magazine “Art de Vivre” - have portrayed and praised the album. Origins has been the protagonist of several music radio shows, including La Dársena and Ojo Crítico of RNE. Lucia’s previously released album with Deco Ensemble had been praised as, “[…] absolutely wonderful and even breathtaking at times, both due to the excellent selection of material and of course by the masterful execution by these virtuosi players”.

She is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the British-Spanish Society Centenary Award, the Elizabeth Sweeting Award, BBVA and Leverhulme Scholarships and the Wolfson Foundation Instrument Award, which enabled her to commission a violin to be made by the renowned Spanish luthier, Jardón Rico.

Lucia received advice and performed in masterclasses for András Keller, Ralf Gothóni, Donald Weilerstein, Boris Brovstyn, Pavel Vernikov, Jan Talich, Enrico Onofri, Richard Tognetti and members of the Belcea and Casals Quartets, amongst others. She collaborates regularly with renowned composers, premiering and recording their compositions.

Lucia started learning the violin at the age of four with Alexei Michlin and some years later she moved to England to study with Andrew Watkinson.

She obtained her Bachelor degree and a Master of Music Performance with Distinction at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and she is currently pursuing a Konzertexamen with Gordan Nikolić at the Hfm Saarbrücken.

Her recent performances include, concerts for the British Spanish Society and the Spanish Embassador in the UK in London, at the Princess of Asturias Awards and Botín Foundation. In addition to recitals at the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, at the MozartHaus Hall in Vienna, Barbican and Milton Court in London and at music festivals in England, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, South Korea, Germany and Belgium.

Lucia is also the founder and artistic director of La Serranía Music Festival, - a chamber music festival taking place in the mountains of Valencia (Spain)-.
